What this site stores on your device
Nothing. The site sets no cookies and uses no local storage, so there is no consent banner.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, provided by GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA), part of Microsoft. When you load a page, GitHub receives your IP address and the technical details of your request, and delivers the page. GitHub may keep access logs for security and operation. We do not see these logs.
Data may be processed in the United States. GitHub describes the safeguards it uses for such transfers in its privacy statement.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the site securely (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, provided by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia, on servers in the European Union. Plausible acts as our processor.
Plausible sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. To count a visit it processes your IP address and browser details briefly to create a short-lived identifier that changes every 24 hours. The IP address is not stored. What we see is aggregated: the pages visited, referring site, country, device type, browser and operating system.
We also record a few actions on the site, without any information about you: which step of an interactive demo was reached, which demo card was opened, which expectation prompt was revealed, and whether an email link was clicked (not who you are or what you write).
Purpose: understanding which pages and demo steps are used so we can improve them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time. To stop your browser being counted, open the browser console on evidenx.net and run localStorage.plausible_ignore=true.
Fonts
The fonts used on this site are served from the site itself. Loading them involves no third party.
Email links open your own email program. We receive nothing until you send a message. If you write to us we process your email address and message to reply, and keep them as long as the conversation or any legal obligation requires. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to external sources, such as court filings and regulator reports. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data (Art. 15), correction (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and a portable copy (Art. 20), and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Because we do not identify visitors, we may be unable to link analytics data to you.
You may also complain to a data protection authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz, Hintere Bleiche 34, 55116 Mainz, Germany (datenschutz.rlp.de).
